Think about all the things you need to have in order to efficiently cook over a fire in the wild.  A long pair of tongs, a poker, some type of spatula, oven mitts and some basting brushes.  If you catch some fish or bring along some meat, you must be able to command the grill because dropping food onto the ground or into the fire is not an option.

So when my trusted companion told me to leave the utensil sack in the garage and use his grill gloves I was tempted, but reluctant.  If they didn’t work as advertised our trip would have to be cut short.  But, I was up for the risk because they were so easy to transport.  The grill glove is made from food grade silicone and are easily smooshed up to fit in the bottom pocket of my camping pack. Traditional utensils do not bend or come apart easily for travel and can take up valuable needed for more crucial supplies. Further, compared to metal and wooden utensils, the grill gloves are as light as feathers.
